West Brom boss Tony Mowbray is happy to see Curtis Davies playing so well for Aston Villa.
Davies left Albion in the summer of 2007 to join Villa, initially on a season-long loan, after Mowbray's side had missed out on promotion to the Premier League when they were beaten in the play-off final by Derby.
Davies made the deal permanent for £10million earlier this summer and Mowbray bears no grudges that the former England Under-21 international chose to leave Albion.
He said: "At that moment in Curtis' life he made the decision that he wanted to do something else.
"Good luck to him. It hasn't worked out too badly for him and we are doing okay as well.
"Ultimately, at the time, we got a very, very good price for Curtis.
"The bottom line is that he is a good player. I saw him play at Tottenham on Monday and it was great to see him so fit, athletic and competitive doing what he does.
"He was the Curtis Davies that I worked with for a year or so and I am delighted that he is doing so well."
