West Brom boss Tony Mowbray says skipper Jonathan Greening is as crucial to the Baggies as Steven Gerrard is to Liverpool.
"We have to have our best players out there week in, week out to give us the best chance of winning matches," Mowbray told the club's website.
"We miss them hugely when they're not there. Liverpool miss Gerrard when he's not involved and Arsenal miss Fabregas. Manchester United have such a special squad but when Ronaldo is missing it takes away something from their team.
"Jonathan can be integral to the way we play.
"He can control things, uses his body well, sees the right pass, and can play it long or short. He has the human element as well that means he carries the humility around to be a top player."
