West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine says he is in regular talks with management over their transfer plans.
Irvine revealed he is part of on-going discussions about possible targets.
"It's not what I focus on," he said. "We talk about it (recruitment) all the time.
"I'm really happy with the way it is structured here because it allows me the time to concentrate on what happens on the pitch and what happens on the training ground.
"The fact is I am continually involved in discussions about what type of player we are looking for and all that kind of thing. It's an on-going process, it never stops. We don't just re-start the process three weeks before the transfer window opens and then close it the day the window closes. It is continual.
"We have people going out to watch players every week... but that isn't me. I go to loads of games but I'm watching them purely from the point of view of watching the opposition. I've seen Hull three times. I want to see what else I can find out.
"In previous roles I have been traipsing up and down the country watching players. That takes you away from the job that is most important here just now - to win some games."
