New West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine has revealed David Moyes has been in touch since he landed the job.
Irvine said: "I've got about 260 text messages I have to reply to and voicemails and David's is in there.
"He basically said that if he could help in any way to give him a call, which I intend doing.
"We've always bounced things off each other. I was thrilled for him when he got the Manchester United job and for him to lose it so quickly is extremely sad."
He added: "That was all down to results and we're all judged on that.
"I'll have to give him a call and ask him for any pointers. Sadly he lost his job, but he will be back because he's a top manager.
"He's the type who looks at himself and won't blame anybody else. We'll catch up shortly but we might need a couple of hours because a lot has happened."
