West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine is pleased with what he's seen from the club's youngsters in preseason.
Wes Atkinson, Bradley Garmston, Donervorn Daniels, Adil Nabi and Kemar Roofe travelled with the squad to Sacramento, with all playing some part in one, or both, of the friendlies.
"The youngsters can play a role," Irvine told the Birmingham Mail.
"It's really important we have players who make our squad bigger. We don't want to be relying on too many young players too soon.
"They've benefited from injuries to senior players and they benefited from being out with us in the US.
"What their route will be from here we don't know because it depends on what we get and the senior players, but they certainly haven't let themselves down."
