West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine has made it clear he doesn't want to lose Craig Dawson.
Burnley have failed with three offers for the defender this summer.
"I don't want Craig Dawson to go," said the Albion boss.
"I told him from the first day, from the first meeting we had, I didn't want him to go.
"I think there was a reaction from the Joleon Lescott signing that another centre-back is suddenly thinking 'oh no, another centre-back' but I've said all along we need four centre-backs and that is what I intend to be the case.
"We have Joleon, who's had a setback. Gareth hasn't had much of a pre-season so far and we have Jonas Olsson.
"So Craig's actually played more pre-season games than the other lads and is a big part of our plans. I don't want him to go."
