West Brom boss Irvine happy pressure easing on Newcastle's Pardew

West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine is happy for Alan Pardew over Newcastle United's resurgence.

Irvine, who spent more than five years as a coach at St James' Park, is pleased to see the pressure on the Toon manager Pardew.

"I am really pleased for Alan Pardew because I think the treatment he has had has been unfair," Irvine said.

"A few weeks ago I went to Stoke to watch Newcastle play. They lost that game but they were unlucky, I thought they played well.

"I felt as if they weren't far away from getting it right. They have just simply gone from that not quite happening to now it is happening."
