West Brom boss Irvine: Berahino needs goalscoring support

West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine admits they need to ease the pressure on Saido Berahino.

The striker drew a blank in defeat to Newcastle United.

Irvine insisted he wants his entire squad to start scoring and not continue to rely on Berahino.

He said: "We need goals to come from all over the team and the only pressure that should be on Saido is to perform at his best level as often as he possibly can.

"From the start of the season he has done that on a fairly consistently high basis.

"It's vitally important that goals come throughout your team. We have got players who can score goals, from midfield and up front so there certainly shouldn't be a complete dependency on Saido scoring goals, although your defenders are going to get the most chances."
