West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine has urged Saido Berahino to ignore the transfer rumours.

The 21-year-old's name is continually linked with big-money moves away from The Hawthorns.

"At the moment it is pure speculation because we have had no offers at all as far as I'm aware and if we have no offers then we have nothing to keep him focused about," Irvine said. "He is our player and he has to get on with it.

"The speculation could be a distraction but again it is one of those situations where he just has to play well and if he does then good things happen and we will all be delighted if he plays well and so will he.

"That's all he has to focus on and if that means that clubs come in and make offers then that has to be dealt with at that time.

"If he gets distracted the chances are he won't play well and if he doesn't play well then nobody will come in anyway."
