West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson is determined to sign a new goalkeeper this summer.
The Daily Mail says Hodgson has confirmed he is on the look-out for a new keeper and has forwarded Brad Friedel's name to chairman Jeremy Peace.
Hodgson will face competition from Liverpool and Spurs but West Bromwich are more likely to offer the veteran American regular first-team football.
Aston Villa have not given up hope of re-signing the keeper but at present are only offering a 12-month deal.
Manchester United's Tomasz Kuszczak is another on Hodgson's list.
