West Brom boss Hodgson seeking proven quality in summer market

West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson admits they're seeking proven quality in the summer market.

He admitted the team's form this term has given him and the club the advantage of being able to focus their recruitment and scouting planning solely on a Barclays Premier League future since February.

"We talk all the time," Hodgson told the WBA website.

"We have been pretty confident for some time that we would be in the league and we have been basing our recruitment ideas and our scouting of players on the basis we would be in the league.

"It wasn't quite the same last year when we were talking between February and April and we were much more concerned that we might go down.

"Then we thought we'd better be careful because we didn't really know what league we were recruiting for.

"We haven't really said that this year and we have just worked on the basis that we were going to do it.

"All of our discussions have been with that in mind and we've been looking to sign Premier League players and talking about a lot of players."
