West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson says he wanted Luis Suarez at Liverpool when he was in charge.
Hodgson insisted he would have signed in-form £23million striker Suarez had he survived at Anfield.
"We looked at Suarez. I went to see him play and Kenny also saw him," said Hodgson.
"Kenny was doing a lot of scouting alongside me when I was there.
"I saw him in a Champions League game against Milan. He was well researched.
"Liverpool took the plunge with Suarez and have been well rewarded. But during my time the club was changing ownership and we were between transfer windows."
