West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson is happy for his players to wind down during their summer hols.
Hodgson reckons it is imperative the playing staff recharge their batteries before they report back for pre-season in early July if they hope to survive for a second successive season.
"I think the whole of life has got to be balanced between work and play, and stressful periods and relaxing periods," he told the WBA website.
"We all know come August when the league is about to start we're in for a long, hard spell - a bit of a slog.
"It's not a sprint, it's a marathon.
"There is no point in being top of the league for three games and bottom after 38.
"You have to get through it all.
"There is no better example of that than Manchester United this year and the slog they've gone through to have such incredible results at the end of it."
