West Brom boss Hodgson insists Cox staying

West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson says striker Simon Cox is not for sale after Birmingham City made an enquiry.

West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson says striker Simon Cox is not for sale after Birmingham City made an enquiry.

Cox, 24, hit a hat-trick in the last round against Carling Cup Finalists Cardiff and the Republic of Ireland forward says he has a love affair with the Cup.

And he hopes more goals against Norwich will help cement a regular place up front.

Cox said: "I like the cups. They've been good to me since I've been here.

"I've scored a lot of goals in cups since I've been here and not as many in the league.

"If I can get a couple more goals against Norwich then the manager will keep faith with me against Fulham and Swansea.

"I don't know if you would call me 'Polyfilla' but at the moment it's about getting in the team and as it stands I'm in."
