West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson was delighted with George Thorne's performance in defeat to Tottenham.

The youngster impressed for the injury-hit Baggies last night.

"George, in particular, was very good. I only took him off as we were losing 1-0 and Paul Scharner is more of a goal threat.

"But George can be very pleased with how he played," said Hodgson.
