West Brom boss Hodgson highlights Fortune influence in back-to-back wins

West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson has hailed unsung hero Marc-Antoine Fortune after back-to-back wins.

The Baggies have now fired nine goals in back-to-back victories without the former Celtic striker getting on the scoresheet.

But Hodgson insisted neither victory would have been possible without his considerable contribution in spearheading a lethal 4-5-1 formation.

"The player who will once again be the unsung hero is Fortune," the Albion boss to the club's website. "I'm not worried about him not scoring. We scored five last time and four this week. We don't care who gets the goals.

"And one thing's for certain - Fortune's hand in those nine goals has been quite extraordinary.

"I thought he gave another fantastic display of front play in holding the ball up.

"I don't think there was one moment when balls came towards him that he didn't manage to secure it, or, if it was a ball that wasn't really his to win, he put the defender under so much pressure that often he did win it or forced an error.

"I was really, really pleased with his performance."
