West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson has no doubts over the quality of former Ipswich Town defender Gareth McAuley.
New-boy McAuley will battle Craig Dawson, 21, for a start against Swansea City having recovered from a severe case of gastroenteritis.
Hodgson said: "Gareth wanted to hit the ground running after coming in from Ipswich but got struck down by this virus.
"Only now is he getting his full strength back. He lost weight and his energy levels were drained - it's credit to him he has come back."
