West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson was delighted with Paul Scharner's performance in the derby win over Wolves.
Scharner has impressed Hodgson with his reaction to being dropped as the Baggies boss shuffles the wealth of midfielders he has at his disposal.
"He reacted very well," said the Albion boss to the club's website.
"He's in a situation where for many games his position has been unchallenged and he will have to accept that this year it won't be like that. He does, and he has reacted in the right way.
"He has been determined to show me on the training field, and by his footballing actions, that I should still be counting on him and looking to use him.
"I think in this game it was the right decision to bring him back in because of the type of team Wolves are and the type of players they have.
"He gave us in our play what we wanted from him."
