West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson believes Aston Villa will be safe this season.

The Baggies face Villa this weekend.

When asked about Villa's survival hopes, Hodgson said: "Nothing is unthinkable but I don't think they are going to be relegated.

"I would be very surprised. They've still got a margin to the other teams so I'll be very surprised but these days nothing is unthinkable in football.

"If you look at the Championship, there are a lot of big clubs there."
