West Brom boss Clarke won't get carried away with lofty position

West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke doesn't want to get carried away with their lofty table position.

Former Liverpool and Chelsea number two Clarke is determined Albion, who visit Wigan at the weekend, will not get carried away with their current success.

He said: "It is too early in the season. We don't get carried away. We've a good group of players who have proved in the last two seasons that they don't get involved in the relegation dogfight.

"They've finished comfortable in mid-table and we are trying to build on that.

"But the first target as always is to make sure you are comfortable in the league and that's what we are striving to do at the moment."
