West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke was delighted with Jerome Thomas' performance in defeat to Arsenal.
The Hawthorns clash against his former club was only his fourth Barclays Premier League start for the Baggies this term.
"I've got a good squad so when I make changes the ones that come in do well," said Clarke to the WBA website.
"It was good to see Jerome. He hasn't had much time for me this year and it was good to see him on the pitch. He gives us something different.
"He can go past a man and I thought his start to the game was really good.
"In the first half we didn't get the ball to him enough."
