West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke wants to cool the hype around Saido Berahino.
The striker is being mentioned as a bolter for England's World Cup squad.
Clarke said: "Six weeks ago nobody even spoke about him, suddenly people want to put him in England's World Cup squad.
"I want everyone to back off him. Let's give the boy time. He's done all right.
"I will try to look after him, keep his confidence high. I don't want him to get over-confident or cocky."
