West Brom boss Clarke addresses Popov, Olsson disciplinary problems

West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke has addressed disciplinary problems with Goran Popov and Jonas Olsson.

Clarke confirmed that left-back Popov had also been disciplined for spitting in the direction of Tottenham full-back Kyle Walker during last weekend's game.

The Macedonia international will have to serve a three-match ban - starting with the visit to Liverpool.

Clarke said: "He has been disciplined, he has apologised to everyone.

"I've spoken to Goran face to face. The players had a couple of days off and Goran came in every day looking for someone to apologise to.

"He has taken it badly and as far as I'm concerned it's done and dusted and we move on from that as well."

Central defender Olsson has also said sorry for a hand gesture towards home fans who jeered after he made a mistake during the Spurs game.

Clarke said: "This one is something that Jonas apologised for. I didn't know anything about it at the time.

"He is a passionate player and I'm sure the supporters appreciate his passion and sometimes passion can boil over a bit.

"He apologised straight away with no prompting from anyone and I think that one is closed."
