West Brom have made a £9 million bid for Leicester City winger Jeffrey Schlupp.

The Express & Star says the 23-year-old would overtake James Chester as the club's most expensive defender of all time should the Premier League champions accept the offer.

The Baggies had highlighted Leeds left-back Charlie Taylor as a potential new addition, but chairman Massimo Cellino was proving to be a stumbling block in negotiations.

And it's believed head coach Tony Pulis would prefer a player with Premier League experience.
