West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that Jonas Olsson will be sidelined until the New Year.
The Swedish centre-back is set to undergo foot surgery on Friday in a bid to relieve pressure on his troublesome Achilles and will be unavailable for the remainder of 2014.
"I have been struggling with this one and off for some time and I've come to the point where it feels like surgery would help it," he told the club's official website.
"The recovery time is short so I hope to be back 100%."
Olsson has been battling the Achilles issue for some time now and will have a piece of bone removed from his left foot to address the situation.
