West Brom to be patient with Gera

West Bromwich Albion insist they will not rush Zoltan Gera back into action following an ankle injury.

The Hungarian midfielder has not yet appeared for the Baggies since his summer return from Fulham and although he is on the road to recovery, the clubs assistant manager Michael Appleton says they will be patient before giving him game time.

"We'll take as much time as possible with him," Appleton told the club's official website.

"The situation with him is that he can't do any contact stuff at the minute hence the reason why the head coach was reluctant for him to go away with Hungary.

"Everything he's doing at the minute is non contact.

"It will be a couple of weeks before he can come in and train properly like we want him to.

"We hope to ease him back in over the next two weeks."
