Manchester City midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim is wanted by West Bromwich Albion.
The Daily Mail says the Norway Under-21 international has been told by manager Roberto Mancini that he can leave the Etihad Stadium in January.
And Baggies boss Steve Clarke is plotting a £750,000 move for Ibrahim, who is of Somalian descent, when the transfer window reopens.
The 21-year-old, who is also being monitored by Wigan Athletic, Swansea City and Sunderland, has just returned from a loan spell at Norwegian side Stromgodset - where he scored three goals in 11 appearances.
