West Bromwich Albion chiefs had concerns over Roberto di Matteo's match preparation prior to his shock dismissal yesterday.

The Daily Mail says the Baggies were concerned with Di Matteo' s management style. There were questions about his commitment regarding the homework he carried out on opponents and prospective targets alike.

However, he went by the title of head coach and recruitment fell under the umbrella of the director of football, Dan Ashworth.

Former Liverpool and Fulham manager Roy Hodgson is favourite to fill the vacant position.
