West Bromwich Albion ace Peter Odemwingie credits his stunning goal scoring form to finding the cheetah within him!
Odemwingie admits the help earlier in the season of a sports psychologist, who urged him to rely on his natural instincts in a similar way to a cheetah, has helped bring the best out in him in his first season in English football.
The 29-year-old hotshot quipped on the WBA website: "I don't need him now!
"He tried to make me forget about the missed chances and bring out the instinct. I am a player he said who does better using his instincts than thinking. He says just play naturally.
"He showed me an image of a running cheetah. He said when I run that he sees that in me, that I change direction and am quick.
"The thing about it is cheetahs have the belief in their speed and quality to catch something. That means when they lose one they are not scared because they are going to get the next one.
"He said put that in your mind and don't be too worried about a lost chance, so I started doing that. That same week I had a chance to seal the game up and I missed.
"But in the next week I scored the winner against Blackpool in the last minute. It made sense to me. I try to speak with doctors and psychologists always just to learn something new and interesting.
"That is why we talked about it."
