West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino is set to miss England's opening U21 Euros clash with Portugal.

Berahino is thought to have been taken for a scan on an unspecified injury.

It is another blow for Gareth Southgate as the head coach has also lost Everton defender John Stones for two games because of concussion.

Jesse Lingard, the Manchester United flyer, is the most likely replacement for Berahino alongside Harry Kane and Nathan Redmond.
