Wessels settling quickly at Everton

German goalkeeper Stefan Wessels is happy with the way he has settled at Everton.

Wessels arrived at Everton in August from FC Cologne and made his first appearance for the Toffees' reserve side on Tuesday night in their 2-1 defeat to Sunderland.

"I'm settling in fine," Wessels told evertonTV. "I have already found a nice house and even the weather has been good recently!"

Wessels said he enjoyed his first taste of real action since joining the Club and was pleased with the way the two young central defenders in front of him dealt with visiting striker Andy Cole.

"It was my first game in England and my first game for Everton so I am pleased it went well," he said.

"It is good for our defence that he (Cole) didn't score. He didn't have many chances and I think they can be proud of that."
