Werder Bremen midfield ace Diego has revealed he came close to signing for AC Milan and is a big fan of Italian football.

The Brazil international said: "Yes, it's true. I almost joined Milan when I chose to leave Brazil, but in the end agreed to sign with Porto.

"I follow Italian football and like the way Roma play. Milan are my favourites for the Champions League, they have great players with vast experience."
