Polish playmaker Ludovic Obraniak is interesting Sunderland and West Ham United.
The Daily Star says Werder Bremen are set to sell the midfielder just 12 months after beating the Black Cats to land the 30-year-old from Bordeaux.
Obraniak has been at loggerheads with Bremen sporting director Rouven Schroder.
He said: "I want to leave Bremen. Sunderland and West Ham were in touch but we couldn't reach an agreement over a transfer."
