Werder Bremen defender Per Mertesacker has shut down talk of a move to Arsenal.
The Germany international has been linked with the Gunners ahead of the January market.
But he insists: "My contract expires in 2012 but I'm not going to go to the Premier League.
"Werder is having a bad time but I will not abandon them. I want to help the club out of this situation, it is not the time to think about the future."
