Werder Bremen 0-2 Twente: Dutch champions make most of Bremen implosion

Dutch champions FC Twente made the most of a Werder Bremen implosion to grab a vital away win in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Germans were seemingly in control of the contest until Torsten Frings was sent off in the 74th minute when he had an outburst at referee Alain Hansen following a challenge on Bryan Ruiz.

The sending off sparked Twente into action as they scored through Nacer Chadli in the 81st minute before Luuk de Jong added a second three minutes later after Ruiz's pinpoint cross found his head.

The win allowed Twente to replace Bremen in third on the Group A table as they lie two points behind first and second-placed Tottenham and Inter Milan.
