Arsene Wenger insists he would "prefer" Jens Lehmann to stay at Arsenal, but admits it is ultimately the player's decision.

Borussia Dortmund have suggested they may be about to make a move for the out-of-favour Lehmann and, with the German goalkeeper having repeatedly expressed his frustration at being out of the first team, his departure looks increasingly likely.

However, Wenger insists the player could still have a future with Arsenal.

"We'll see together," he told Sky Sports News.

"I believe first he has to make his mind up: does he want to stay with us or not?

"I personally would prefer him to stay and he has to make his mind up first and then we will see together."
