Wenger will not be entering January transfer market

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stated he does not intend to make any new signings in January. With the transfer window approaching, there has been speculation over potential targets as the Gunners aim to remain in the title hunt.

As well as signing defensive duo Laurent Koscielny and Sebastien Squillaci in the summer, striker Marouane Chamakh arrived on a free transfer from Bordeaux and has already scored 10 goals for the Gunners.

The Frenchman therefore claims he will only act in January if his squad is hit by injury.

"My policy is to stick to the squad I have, we will not be on the market," he told the club's official website.

"I want to keep my squad and I want to continue with these players. We will not be on the market unless we lose some."
