Wenger: Wales action has cost Arsenal midfielder

Arsene Wenger has blamed Aaron Ramsey's international commitments with Wales for the Arsenal midfielder's latest injury setback.

The 24-year-old faces a month on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring during the Gunners' Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Wenger said he felt Ramsey should not have played 90 minutes in Wales' 2-0 win over Andorra on October 13.

With Wales already having qualified for next year's tournament in France, the fixture against the 205th ranked nation in the world was essentially a dead rubber.

Real Madrid's Welsh star Gareth Bale has also been sidelined with a calf injury since the fixture and Wenger believes that is no coincidence.

"Ramsey had a scan and he's out," Wenger said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

"I believe he will be out until after the next international break. The fact that he played against Andorra certainly cost Bale and him as well."
