Wenger to wait on Ramsey and Wilshere as Arsenal prepare for Tottenham

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits he will have to wait on the fitness of both Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere ahead of the weekend's North London derby with Tottenham.

The Gunners pair copped heavy knocks in Tuesday night's 2-0 Champions League playoff qualifying win over Fenerbahce at the Emirates Stadium and Wenger says they will be monitored in the lead-up to Sunday's encounter with Spurs.

"I don't know how bad Ramsey is. I don't know how Wilshere responds. We have to check that (Wednesday) morning," Wenger said.

"The two tackles on Wilshere were disappointing, but he looks all right. Jack should be all right for Sunday. I'm hopeful on Aaron as well.

"I took him off with three or four minutes to go, but I don't know how bad it is. He wanted to stay on."

Ramsey, who scored both goals for Arsenal, sustained a slight groin problem whilst fellow midfielder Wilshere suffered a knock to his ankle in a strong challenge.
