Wenger urges Arsenal not to get too uptight

Arsene Wenger has told his players to just enjoy themselves, play football and let the results come. The Gunners have endured a tough in recent weeks, first losing the Carling Cup to Birmingham City before being knocked out of both the FA Cup and Champions League whilst drawing to two lowly teams in the league.

With their last win coming on March 2 against League One Leyon Orient you couldn't blame the player for feeling a bit anxious but Wenger says they need to relax if they want to stay in the Premiership race.

"Since the start of the season this group has had a great focus so we have to be a bit more light-hearted because that has been missing a bit since Barcelona knocked us out of the Champions League," the Frenchman said.

"You feel in the recent games there was a weight on our shoulders a little bit. You want that focus but you want to be happy and to play without any special pressure.

"You have to be a bit light-hearted in your games, find a good mixture between the desire to play our way and having the focus to win the game. We need to play with joy, feel pressure-free and be happy to play. A happy player is a better player.

"We go into the final part of the season now and that's where the differences are made. We have an opportunity to do it now.

"Let's enjoy it and go for it."

The Gunners will regain the services of skipper Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Alex Song and Abou Diaby for tomorrow's Emirates Stadium clash with Blackburn Rovers whilst Robin van Persie, Nicklas Bendtner and Aaron Ramsey were all expected to come through fitness tests today.
