Wenger urges Arsenal to hit back after Tottenham defeat

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has urged his side to bounce back from their disappointing loss to North London derby rivals Tottenham.

The Gunners led 2-0 at the break but were overrun by Spurs who scored three times in the second half to notch up a memorable victory.

But now Wenger wants his side to hit back mentally and take down Portuguese club Braga in the second last Champions League group stage match tonight.

"It was not rational how we lost a game of that magnitude leading 2-0," he said. "The way we conceded the goals leaves us with many regrets.

"It is down to something. Sometimes we are easing up in games because maybe subconsciously we feel we need to go through the motions. Sometimes it is a more subtle subconscious feeling that we have not won yet and we get a bit nervous when we have to become really concrete.

"It's a bit like a Formula One driver when he goes into the curve and thinks, "I want to cross the line at the end". He goes into the wall.

"But if he focuses on how he wants to take his curve he has a chance to get out of it. And it's a bit the same in our game.

"We need to bounce back as quickly as possible."
