Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger maintains it is too soon to speculate how long skipper Cesc Fabregas will be out with a hamstring problem. The 23 year old suffered the injury as he netted a freak goal at Sunderland on Saturday, the ball kicked into him by Anton Ferdinand and it looped back into the goal.
Speaking to Arsenal TV Online ahead of the Carling Cup third-round tie at Tottenham, Wenger said: "We don't know yet. It is difficult to say.
"He has a hamstring problem but, I can't tell how long he will be out for.
"Any speculation would be wrong because we have not had the scan."
Fabregas would not have been included in the squad, with Wenger again set to use a combination of fringe and youth players in the Carling Cup.
