Wenger unsure about Arsenal future for Szczesny

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has accepted that goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny's future at the Emirates Stadium is far from certain.

Szczesny has lost his place in the first team following a poor performance against Southampton on New Year's Day and it has been reported that he could be surplus to requirements ahead of next season.

The likely availability of Petr Cech has alerted the Arsenal board and the Gunners believe a deal can be struck with Chelsea for the Czech Republic international in the summer which would see the writing on the wall for Szczesny.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Reading, Wenger looked indecisive when asked whether the 24-year old had a long-term future at the club.

"That is at the moment - I hope, yes," Wenger said. "But at the moment it is very difficult to answer that question, you know. What is important is Saturday."

Despite his uncertainty as a Gunner, Wenger has declared that the Polish goalkeeper will start at Wembley in front of David Ospina.
