Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger praised Thomas Tuchel for PSG's Champions League win over Liverpool.

Wenger insists PSG were worthy winners on the night.

He told L'Equipe: "He's strengthening his defensive midfield, that's good.

"(Edinson) Cavani, it is a choice of the coach who saw that he began to be cooked. Paris showed a lot of determination, really drew on its resources. Liverpool pushed a lot but lacked construction at the back.

"Liverpool did not have enough play to put defensive PSG in danger. Paris had everything in terms of motivation. The changes have worked. They led 2-1, they had to strengthen defensively. He did it, it worked."
