Arsene Wenger doesn't want Arsenal to break their wage structure for Robin van Persie. The Daily Star Sunday says Wenger has given the board the green light to sell their star asset this summer - if needs be.

A Gunners source revealed: "Of course, Arsene wants Robin to agree the new deal and pledge himself to Arsenal. That goes without saying.

"But if that doesn't happen, he's made it clear to the board there will be no need to panic and they should sell Van Persie - at the right price.

"Because, as he says, it's unlikely Robin will have another season quite as good as the one just gone - both in terms of goals scored and appearances made."
