Wenger says Arsenal eager to keep unbeaten Premier League run

Arsene Wenger is keen on quickly getting over the EFL Cup disappointment by maintaining Arsenal's unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Arsenal's wonderful 19-match undefeated streak in all competitions came to a halt after the Gunners suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Southampton in the quarter-finals of the league cup on Wednesday night.

The result was most certainly a very disappointing one for Wenger but the 67-year-old has urged his side to bounce back by extending their 12-match unbeaten run in the Premier League when they meet West Ham United on the weekend.

He told Arsenal.com: "I don't think I can moan about the momentum in the Premier League, that is important for us.

"I knew that in the League Cup that could happen, but it's disappointing to lose the game more than the run we have.

"The run we want to keep in the Premier League, but I am very disappointed tonight because there are questions on important things.

"You know, when you turn up in the first 45 minutes we played."
