Wenger satisfied with Arsenal's defensive showing

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was happy his side was able to keep a clean sheet in their 2-0 win over Wolves after losing to Newcastle United on the weekend.

The Gunners saluted thanks to a Marouane Chamakh double but it was the efforts at the other end of the park that had the Frenchman beaming.

"We went early into the lead and the victory was so important for us tonight that the focus was more on defending and keeping the result safe," he said.

"If you look at the game, we had many chances but I must say you have to give credit to Wolves.

"They are good defensively, they are good at winning the ball back and they always looked dangerous. They will give problems to anyone in this league."
