Wenger ready to see out career at Arsenal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he could finish his managerial career at the Emirates stadium.

Wenger's commitment to Arsenal's cause remains unquestionable after he signed a contract extension worth £4.5million a year that will keep him at the club until 2011.

The deal puts him on the same pay scale as Sir Alex Ferguson and there were suggestions yesterday that he will outstay the Manchester United manager.

"I'm at a stage of my career now where I don't want to be associated with anyone else," said Wenger.

"It's like a marriage. I met this club at the right moment of my life and although I had difficult times at the start, the club was always behind me.

"The first time I realised the level of support for the club was when we were at Wembley in the Champions League in the Nineties and it was a sell-out.

"I realised then that the club was bigger than Highbury."
