Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hopes to land Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler this week. The Mirror says he has been pushing to land No1 target Draxler this month but has yet to agree a deal with Schalke.
Draxler is keen to move, but the Londoners may have to wait until the summer to get their man.
Another scenario would be to agree a deal in advance.
Arsenal did something similar with Cologne over Lukas Podolski two years ago and are working hard on a deal for Draxler, who is seen as having the potential to switch from his current attacking midfield role to playing up front.
