Wenger pushes Arsenal to change player contract policy

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has pushed the club to bring forward new contract talks with his players.

Wenger and the club hierarchy will begin negotiations as a matter of urgency for Bacary Sagna whose current deal expires in 2014.

Kieran Gibbs, who also has two years left, will also be offered a new deal as the club try to be more proactive on contracts after being forced to sell Robin van Persie and reaching contract deadlock with Theo Walcott. Alex Song was also sold this summer.
